2024 In Review: Our Property Management Highlights

Introduction

As we welcome the New Year, we’re taking a moment to reflect on an incredible 2024 at POD. From exciting new partnerships, innovative property management milestones, and proudly being named Managing Agent of the Year 2024, the past 12 months have been all about growth, efficiency, and enhancing the communities we serve.

We owe our success to our amazing teams who allow us to deliver outstanding estate and block management services, which has enabled us to collaborate with some of the largest developers across the UK; including Bellway, Peabody and Berkeley Homes (just to name a few)!

To sum up the key figures we’re most proud of, we’ve compiled the below:

Managing Agent of the Year

As we shared in our previous blog post, we were overjoyed to win Managing Agent of the Year 2024 (5,001-15,000 units) at the ACE awards, hosted by The Property Institute, of which POD is a proud member., Not only did we win, we also acquired ‘Highly Commended’ in Resident Engagement Initiative of the Year and Rising Star Awards. These accoladesy bolster the many property management accreditations we’ve accumulated over the years, more of which you can see here. Being appointed such awards emphasises our dedication in growth, safety and exemplary service while solidifying our outstanding reputation within the industry.

So, in what ways have we demonstrated this expertise for block and property management services? Let’s take a closer look:

Masters of Customer Happiness

With a lofty 91% portfolio-wide Happiness Rating, we’re confident in our ability to deliver customer needs and are here to lend a helping hand in any queries or issues that may arise. Of course, our 4.3 Star Trustpilot is another testament to this commitment, and we are dedicated to maintaining this high level of service. It should be noted that our ‘Excellent’ Trustpilot rating has remained consistently high over the course of 2024; no matter the season, our dedication to customer care and happiness is evident.

But we should let the customers and clients speak for themselves - their comments say it all:

Prompt resolutions, supportive employees and positive relationships with our suppliers are just some reasons 2024 was such a successful year for POD.

Safety, Safety, Safety!

Safety is paramount at POD. That’s why we held POD Safety Week 2024, organised by our Health Safety Manager - Simon Sharpe - to engage and inform our colleagues. Through topical podcasts, interactive panels and more, these activities reinforced our commitment to a safe working environment across all our sites. The result? Employees were attentive and actively shared their thoughts and questions, which encouraged collaboration and discussions across our sites. These covered a range of topics, including Mandatory Occurrence Reporting (MOR), fire door inspections and detailed insights regarding whistleblowing.

In 2024 we achieved over 87,922 Planned Preventative Maintenance, and a 94% overall risk compliance – a testament to our steadfast, meticulous safety measures for our property management. We achieved this using our proprietary POD systems, our in-house technology where we digitise operations, providing powerful data through analytics and a flagging system. Using this, we use a proactive approach by preventing problems before they even occur – prevention is better than cure, after all.

Growth & Talent

Each year, we’ve expanded our reach, and by the end of 2024, we had over 12,600 units under POD Management. To support this growth, we also expanded our team, carefully selecting new employees based on the specific needs of each development.

As an equal opportunities employer, we ensure that all our staff receive the necessary training and support they need. Furthermore, we conduct annual wellbeing surveys and hold a gender-balanced senior leadership team that is approximately 60% women. This strategic, diverse approach has resulted in a total of 213 enthusiastic staff members by the end of 2024 - a testament to POD's growth and success.

What’s more is that we encourage the local community to get involved by building relationships with local suppliers and subcontractors, while also providing training and support to help them develop their skills. This extends to POD partnering with local charities to support initiatives like food and clothes collections. Our current partnership with The Single Homeless Project is dedicated to ending homelessness in London.

These initiatives have significantly contributed to our growth by enhancing community engagement and social responsibility. Additionally, they have boosted employee morale and fostered team bonding through a variety of volunteering activities and fundraisers.
